“Monday Night Football” won’t feature a doubleheader in Week 3. It will, however, feature a couple of long-term rivals squaring off for the 121st time. The Cowboys and the Giants will be playing one another in a classic NFC East rivalry game.
Watch the highlights from the Week 3 matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.
Dallas leads the all-time series 71-47-2 and has won nine of its last 10 meetings with New York. That said, the Giants are 2-0 to begin the 2022 campaign and are hoping they can extend their winning streak to three against the Cowboys’ backup quarterback.
Meanwhile, Dallas will be looking for its second consecutive win after Dak Prescott suffered a thumb injury in Week 1 against the Buccaneers. The Cowboys are coming off a 20-17 win over the Bengals while the Giants beat the Panthers 19-16 in Week 2.
Here is everything you need to know about Week 3’s “Monday Night Football” matchup, including times, channels and streaming information for the contest.
Who plays on Monday night football tonight?
- Matchup: Cowboys vs. Giants
- Location: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.
The Cowboys and Giants are squaring off in a “Monday Night Football” battle between two surprising NFC East teams.
The Giants (2-0) have started the season with a couple of wins under first-time NFL head coach Brian Daboll. New York has relied on a strong defensive attack and its Saquon Barkley-led running game to start the season undefeated. Now, the Giants will look to move to 3-0 against an opponent that has owned them in recent seasons.
Dallas is 9-1 in its last 10 games against the Giants, but this will be one of its toughest tests against them lately. Dak Prescott (thumb) remains out heading into Week 3, so Cooper Rush will be forced into action for the Cowboys.
Rush is 2-0 in his career starts, including last week’s shocking 20-17 win over the Bengals, so he will look to keep that magic going. He will rely on CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard to help him carry the offense against a Giants defense that has allowed an average of 18 points per game this season.
This contest will come down to which defense can play better. If Dallas’ defense rattles Daniel Jones and contains Barkley, the Cowboys could earn another win. If the Giants get after Rush and contain Lamb, then the Giants could once again hold an opponent to 20 or fewer points.
